  1. Water fire extinguisher
  2. Dry chemical fire extinguisher

What are the fire classes?

Fires come in many forms, so it is very important to know how to extinguish them correctly and quickly. Firefighting depends primarily on the materials, substances, gases, etc., that may be present at the scene of the fire

Fire classes are based on the ČSN EN 2 standard. Fires are therefore divided into 5 categories:

  • Class A – fires involving solid or organic materials, such as wood, plastics, paper, textiles, or coal.
  • Class B – fires involving flammable liquids, such as gasoline, petroleum oil, paints, or diesel fuel.
  • Class C – fires involving flammable gases, such as propane, butane, or methane.
  • Class D – fires involving combustible metals, such as magnesium, lithium, sodium, potassium, titanium, or aluminum.
  • Class F – fires involving cooking oils and fats, such as vegetable oil, sunflower oil, olive oil, corn oil, lard, or butter.
